Money laundering is any act or attempt to conceal or alter the appearance of an illegitimate identity resulting from criminal activity, as if the proceeds were derived from legal sources. Money launderers are those who either commit wrongdoing themselves and launder the resulting money, or there are people who knowingly or unknowingly enter the wrongdoing money into the country's financial and economic system. In the meantime, banks and financial institutions are known as the main centers of money exchange, so it is very important to take appropriate preventive measures to prevent the inflow of dirty money. To achieve this, the central bank must first have effective oversight of banks based on external control and proper implementation of money laundering regulations. Banks, by creating a separate system as internal control, must take the necessary measures to identify suspicious banking transactions. Finally, the supervisory bodies should supervise the implementation of instructions and regulations by compiling them. An important part of the numerous cases of financial corruption in the country, which has become a daily issue in society, is rooted in non-compliance with financial standards in the country's banking and financial network. A look at the process of reviewing cases related to banking violations shows that if there was more financial discipline in the banking system, the possibility of these violations and corruptions would be greatly reduced. In the present article, in addition to examining the various dimensions of money laundering in our country's banking network, the main signs and symptoms of money laundering are examined from the perspective of relevant officials and experts and the most important issues from the perspective of implementation and supervision. In the end, we come to the conclusion that in order to eradicate corruption, there is no other way but to regulate the process of the country's financial laws and enforce stricter regulations related to money laundering, etc. Some laws and regulations related to financial discipline and money laundering have been passed in the country for many years but have not yet been fully implemented. Also, some other laws are being reviewed, most of which are in line with FATF standards.
