The Necessity of Oversight on City Management and Municipality

he rapid growth of urbanization and migration in recent decades has created serious challenges in urban management. The purpose of this research is to examine the necessity of oversight on city management and municipality. Given the multifaceted nature of urban management, strategic oversight is considered one of the essential requirements for sustainable urban development. The research method is descriptive-analytical, utilizing library and documentary sources. The findings indicate that oversight of urban management is possible through various means such as ratification of Islamic City Council approvals, central government supervision, and removal of council members. The research results suggest that improving urban life indicators requires collaboration between experts and city managers, as well as implementing precise oversight on municipality performance. This study proposes operational solutions for improving urban management and increasing the efficiency of management institutions.
